On January 13, 2014, Monday, the micro-blogging website Twitter announced to completely revamp its desktop website. The main reason behind them rolling out a refreshed desktop web interface is the constantly increasing number of people accessing social network on mobile rather than laptop or desktop computers.
The San Francisco-based company on Monday said, “We’re now rolling out a refreshed http://twitter.com reflecting the look and feel of our iOS and Android apps.” The change comes as users increasingly take to visiting social networks and other online properties from mobile devices instead of laptop or desktop computers.
This change is actually more of a make-over for the website as no additional tools or features have been added to the webpage as of now. Now, users will find the profile picture and the background art at the upper left side, where there would be a box making it more convenient to compose and tweet messages. Besides, users will now be able to personalize their new profile pages with accent colors.
