Facebook ruled in the year 2019 in terms of app downloads. Facebook messenger app is the most downloaded app of 2019, followed by Facebook (main App) then WhatsApp Messenger.
According to App Annie’s year-end report, global app downloads cross a record 120 billion across Apple iOS and Android (Google Play) in 2019. It indicates a 5% year-over-year increase.

Interestingly, 4 out of 10 of the most downloaded apps are from the same company.
This is net new downloads and does not include re-installs or app updates. Consumer spending on apps is growing at 15% year over year and will approach $90 billion worldwide in 2019.
In the game category, 7 out of 10 games were new to the list this year. This included Free Fire, PUBG, Call of Duty: Mobile, indicating the battle royale category.
