Google has made an announcement updating its Google My Business review guidelines with more specific information about conflicts of interest.

As per Google’s new review guidelines, posting negative reviews about a present or previous employer is considered a conflict of interest.

As these kinds of reviews are now against Google’s guidelines, businesses can request to have them removed.

These rules are presently in accordance with Google’s review policies, which recommend not reviewing your own business or employer. Although the most recent update specifies that the negative reviews are not allowed.
