Bing now brings JSON-LD support as part of its Webmaster tools.

Users can authenticate their JSON-LD implementation by accessing Bing Webmaster Tools and utilizing the Markup Validator tool.

The option is available in the Diagnostics and Tools section.

With the inclusions of JSON-LD, the Validator tool now supports different markup languages like-
  • Schema
  • HTML microdata
  • Microformats
  • Open Graph
  • RDFa

From the official announcement:

Bing works hard to understand the content of a page and one of the clues that Bing uses is structured data. JSON-LD, or JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data, is an extension of a JSON-based data format that can be used to implement structured data on your site so Bing and other search engines can better understand the content on your site.

Bing brings the advantages of using JSON-LD to notice of users enabling them to know how its implementation can be done without altering the HTML content of pages.

Once can hide JSON-LD in the header or footer of a page.

This effectively means that webmasters can go about designing their pages as they like without having to worry about arranging the information for markup implementations. JSON-LD makes defining links and relationships between data and entities between the data present on your pages easy because it supports nested data.

Putting spam data in JSON-LD markup may alter the presence of a page in search engine results.

JSON-LD won’t visible on a page, but search engines can see it.
