Instagram to bring slightly redesigned user profiles over the next few weeks.
“Your profile is where you share who you are on Instagram, so starting today we’re testing ways you can better express yourself and more easily connect with the people you care about on your profile.”
Users will find new profiles, where items like icons, buttons, and navigation have been re-arranged.
See the example here-
One of the evident differences users would find in the new profiles is that “the number of followers a user has is less important”.
Earlier, follower counts shown in bold text at the top of profile pages.
In the new profiles redesign, follower counts would appear further down in small text. At the top of the page, there will be the user’s name, bio, and URL.
So follower counts won’t be the first thing to see on a profile.
Instead, users will get to learn about who other people are before seeing how many followers they have.
These changes will be brought in phases, after testing different combinations throughout the Instagram community.
