Google launched a new hyper local services app called the Google Areo.

The app will feature restaurants, chefs, local electricians, painters, cleaners, plumbers and more and users can pay by card, net banking or cash on delivery.

The app is currently operational in Bengaluru and Mumbai. It will be rolled out to every corner of the country in the upcoming days. This app is now available for download for all the Android users in India.

Online portal, the Android Soul was the first to write about the Areo app.

A Google spokesperson for India said that, “We are constantly experimenting with ways to better serve our users in India. In this case, Aero makes everyday chores and ordering food easier by bringing together useful local services like ordering food or hiring a cleaner in one place.”

The interface of Areo looks pretty simple and has a colorful look. Users can select the service of their choice ranging from plumbing, food delivery and fitness classes, and add it to their cart. They will be billed for all of them together as they check out.

Google has partnered with UrbanClap and Zimmber to aggregate home services and Freshmenu, Box8 and Faasos for food ordering, to offer its services on Areo.

This app will let you filter your search for food by vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. It will let you search by dish or restaurant. Even, you can schedule the delivery at a time that suits you.

The app is quite convenient compared to going through two or three different apps for various services. Given that more vendors can come on board, the app has the potential to be successful.

Google has been gaming big on India and recently introduced a number of apps and services including YouTube Go, Google Play Music Unlimited and carrier billing in the Google Play Store.
