Google is ensuring to make July, 2018 a happening month. Along with the roll out of Speed Update, Google has announced that it will mark all sites as “not secure” which haven’t adopted HTTPS protocol. As more than 50 percent internet users are Chrome public, this change is significantly going to impact web publishers.

What else Google is doing in this matter; pushing webmasters for years to bring change in their not secured websites; the trial also came with a hint on ranking boost to further promote the change.

The data mentioned in their post-
  • Over 68% of Chrome traffic on both Android and Windows is now protected
  • Over 78% of Chrome traffic on both Chrome OS and Mac is now protected
  • 81 of the top 100 sites on the web use HTTPS by default
