Google My Business seems to have stopped counting anonymous reviews affecting a business’s overall rating.

The update has been reported by two individuals on Twitter. They noticed that anonymous reviews were disappearing from clients’ Google My Business pages.

Google through this interesting move has brought itself in line with other local review sites on the web. Allowing only registered may result in more honest reviews being submitted.

Now, it helps to know who is leaving the reviews towards a business perspective. The business will get an opportunity to make things right the next time the customer comes in when a regular customer leaves a bad review. So, it’s being seen as a smart move.
