Google made an update to its Google Assistant in which smart speakers and phones will enable users to speak more than one language to it at a time.
The Assistant used to support for multiple languages on earlier chances. Although, it could only speak and understand one language per session.
If a user wanted to go for another language, he or she will have to adjust the settings.
Google Assistant now allows users to alternate between two different languages in the same session.
“Family members in bilingual homes often switch back and forth between languages, and now the Assistant can keep up. With our advancement in speech recognition, you can now speak two languages interchangeably with the Assistant on smart speakers and phones and the Assistant will respond in kind.”
Google is only one to provide this first-of-its-kind feature for voice assistants.
The Assistant will understand any pair of following languages-
- English
- German
- French
- Spanish
- Italian
- Japanese
