Facebook Stories have reached a new milestone i.e. 500 million daily active users which were 300 million in September 2018.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed this number during an earnings call.
The CEO said that the stories including messages and small groups are currently the fastest growing areas of online communication.
COO Sheryl Sandberg also announced that the stories format is growing amongst marketers as well.
From the earnings call:
“Facebook and Instagram feed ads make up the bulk of our business today. We expect that to continue, but Stories are an increasingly important growth opportunity…
We’re proud to announce that we now have 3 million advertisers using Stories Ads to reach customers across Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger.”
Impressions generated from stories ads were the biggest contributing factor to entire impression growth in Q1 2019.
Marketers are adhering to stories ads so fastidiously that it has caused a decline in the average price per ad the moment they’ve been sold at a lower price than feed ads.
Advertisers are adopting such ads as the company is actively motivating advertisers to use them, said Sandberg.
As the company notices that advertisers used to lag behind consumers, Facebook started coaching its marketers on the use of stories ads.
