1) INTERNET- 1950- U.S.A.
The Internet was first introduced in US military as ARPANET later on it got introduced to the general public. Back then in 80’s and 90’s nobody could have imagined for a network with which they can interact with the world just by sitting at their home.
2) E-COMMERCE- 1994- AMAZON
E-commerce is the trading in products or services using computer networks, such as the Internet. With time E-commerce has grown to be a big billion business. As per Alexa, there are in total 110,000 e-commerce websites worldwide, making a minimum of $ 1-100 billion per financial year.
3) SOCIAL NETWORKING VIA INTERNET- 2002- FRIENDSTER
Interacting with people on an online space can only be seen in sci-fi movies, but with the advancement in technology, it was like a dream came true that person just by sitting at their home can interact with a thousand other people and can make new friends at a place where he never visited.
4) WALKMAN- 1979- SONY
Sony Walkman was a revolution in the music industry when people were struggling for pass time Sony introduced its Walkman which was a wireless device and people can utilize it while travelling, cooking, driving and make their free time turn into a recreation time.
5) CELLULAR DEVICE- 1973- MOTOROLA
It was just in novels and movies that we used to see the devices kept in our pockets on which we can receive calls but later on when in 70’s Motorola introduced its first handheld device, it was very tough to believe that it did really exist but the fact was that it does. Even though the concept was displayed in 1973 but the first phone was commercially available in 1983 and till now it has become a big business.
6) WIRELESS ELECTRICITY- 2007- WITRICITY
The most advanced invention of the age. You can charge your laptop, mobile without the hassle of wires and all. Wireless transmission is useful to power electrical devices in cases where interconnecting wires are inconvenient, hazardous, or are not possible.
7) GPS- 1978- U.S.A.
It worked as a virtual world wherein you can know each and every single detail of any part of the world just by sitting at your home or your office. You can know the weather condition, traffic, nearby restaurants, petrol pumps etc. it tells you each and every single thing which you might not be knowing.
8) TABLET COMPUTER- 2010- APPLE
With the rise of the iPad, Kindle, and similar e-Readers and touchscreen devices, tablet-shaped form factor computing power has become much more portable and yet sizable.
9) TOUCH COMPUTING- 1983- HP
The use of easy to use touch screen technologies has enabled new ways of incorporating ‘restorative memory’ and creative therapy interventions with people with dementia, due to their interactive applications.
10) DIGITAL EYEGLASS- 2013- GOOGLE
With every passing moment technology becomes more and more embedded into our daily lives, mostly a blessing to humans, albeit with side effects. Google Glass is the perfect example.
